Getting better

Step 11 of 15

When to get help

When to go to A&E. When to ring us. What to watch for.

Go straight to A&E if:

  • Sudden very bad pain in the testicle, with feeling sick or being sick.
  • The scrotum swells fast and feels tight.
  • You feel feverish and shivery.
  • The cut bleeds heavily and pressing for 10 minutes does not stop it.

Call us within a day if:

  • The cut is red, hot, or has pus.
  • Pain is getting worse after day 3, not better.
  • You have a low fever.
  • It is hard to wee.
