One side or both?

Most varicoceles are on the left side. Some men have one on both sides. Sometimes the right side is small and you cannot feel it, but a scan can see it. If the right side is clearly affected as well, we may treat both sides at once. If the only varicocele is one you cannot feel, the guidelines say not to operate on it on its own.
