The day of the operation

The operation is done through a small cut just above the scrotum. We use a microscope. The cut is about as long as your little fingernail, and there is one cut on each side if both sides are treated. Unilateral takes about an hour; bilateral takes about two. You will normally go home the same day. Some surgeons lift the testicle out through the cut to check small veins underneath; others do not. Both ways are accepted. We will tell you which way we will use and why.
